The Itch.io Larry Update


Well, I thought id share a bit of what's going on with Landmine Larry for the Itch.io community.
(I mainly post on X, and can see more granular updates there.)

Lets bring you all up to speed with a quick TL;DR of Landmine Larry.  I released Landmine Larry as a quirky platformer though Steam's Greenlight service many moons ago.  Unfortunately I had a hard drive crash, and lost all of Larry's source code.  I've since moved a few times, and more recently came across a USB Thumb drive that contained the source for Larry!  That being said, the last few months I've been porting it from Unity 5.4 to the most recent 2022LTS which has been a headache, however its basically almost complete!

That being said. I've taken some liberties along the way and have updated/changed a bit of the game to make it feel like a true platformer.  Upgrades have been as follows so far:

- Redesigned Input Controls. 
- Gamepad Support built in.
- Updated Models/Animations of Larry.
- Updated Weapons/Physics.
- Updated UI.
- (STEAM) Integrated Leaderboard for Speed running.
- (STEAM) Cloud based saving / achievements.
- Tweaked levels for adjustment of difficulty curve.


There's still a fair amount of 'little' things, but id like to get a nicer product out to test before it finally gets a proper release.  Here's a small video of the re-coded powerup system.
